Curriculum Policy

Each class from Year 1 to Year 6 covers three topics per year, one each term. Links are made between subjects wherever possible e.g if children are working on their local area, they might do map work on the local area in geography, explore the Tudhoe Colliery mining heritage in history and explore the work of Norman Cornish in Art. Classes also have a class novel each half term which forms the basis of their English teaching and may be linked to the topic children are working on.

For more information about our curriculum, contact the school office and ask to speak to Caroline Gray (Curriculum Leader), or Allison Boustead (Deputy Headteacher).

Examples of our curriculum planning are available within the relevant pages of the website.
